Example output

Illustration: decision, whether to sell the reminder workflow to multi-location clinics. Questions, who books appointments today, and what they pay to reduce no-shows. Sources, five sales calls and the clinics' own booking exports. The market research plan template stops there. It does not estimate a market size.

How to use it

  1. Write the decision the research must support, in one sentence.
  2. Add the questions that would change that decision.
  3. Run the market research plan template and name a source for each question.
  4. Send competitor questions to the competitor analysis template instead of mixing them in.

FAQ

What makes a research question useful?

An answer would change the decision. A question that is only interesting does not belong in the plan.

Can the assistant estimate market size?

No. If size matters, name the source you will use. Do not publish a figure this tool did not calculate from your inputs.

How is this different from a SWOT?

Research plans the questions. SWOT sorts the answers you already have into four quadrants.
